Roberts, Dansdill, Shreve named CCIW Football Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Wheaton’s Jordan Roberts and Pat Dansdill, along with Millikin’s Grant Shreve were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Football Players of the Week Monday.

Roberts, a senior quarterback from Yorkville, Illinois and Aurora Christian Academy (Business/Economics major), completed 32-of-46 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns during the Thunder’s 35-21 win at North Central on Saturday. He also rushed for 46 yards on 13 carries and two touchdowns, both coming in the third quarter that extended the Thunder lead to 28-7. 

Dansdill, a senior linebacker from Wheaton, Illinois and Wheaton-Warrenville South High School (Elementary Education major), finished with 14 total tackles (10 solo), a sack and a fumble recovery returned 72 yards for a touchdown against North Central. The fumble recovery and touchdown run extended the Thunder lead to 35-14 with 4:55 left in the game.

Shreve, a sophomore punter/kicker from Zionsville, Indiana and Zionsville High School (Business major), had five punts for 189 yards (37.8 average) during the Big Blue’s 37-10 win over North Park on Saturday. Shreve had four punts inside the 20 yard line including a fourth quarter punt to the North Park five yard line that set up a Millikin safety. Shreve also had six kickoffs for 347 yards with a 57.8 yard average.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
