Rigaud Named Centennial Offensive Player of the Week

BALTIMORE, MD -- Johns Hopkins senior running back Jonathan Rigaud(Pembroke Pines, FL/Pembroke Pines) has been named the Centennial Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Blue Jays to a 49-0 win at Dickinson on Saturday. This is the first time in Rigaud's career that he has earned the award and he shares the award with Ursinus quarterback Chris Curran.
Rigaud rushed 20 times for 130 yards and tied a Johns Hopkins single-game record with four rushing touchdowns in the victory against the Red Devils. He scored on runs of 6, 10, 1 and 6 yards and his effort marks the sixth time in school history that a player has rushed for four touchdowns in a game.
A Second Team All-Centennial selection last season, Rigaud now ranks second in the Centennial Conference in rushing yards per game (101.8) and leads the league in both rushing and overall touchdowns (12), points scored (72) and points per game (12.0). He has totaled 611 yards on just 103 carries (5.9) this season.
In addition to tying the school record for rushing touchdowns in a game, Rigaud also moved into second place on JHU's career rushing touchdowns list (27) and seventh place on the career rushing yards list (2,191). The 130-yard rushing effort at Dickinson was the seventh 100-yard game of his career, which is good for ninth place in Hopkins history.
Johns Hopkins (6-0, 5-0 Centennial) ran its regular season winning streak to 20 games and its Centennial Conference winning streak to 18 games with the win at Dickinson. The Blue Jays, who are ranked 10th in this week's AFCA Division III Coaches Poll and 16th by D3football.com, will face their biggest test of the season thus far when Gettysburg (5-1, 4-1 CC) visits Homewood Field on Friday, October 19 (7 pm).
