AFCA Release

WACO, Texas -
For an NCAA Division III-leading eighth-straight season, a Wesley College football player  has been named to the American Football Coaches Association Division III All-America Team, it was announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.  This year's recipient for the Wolverines is offensive lineman Brian Cranmer, who is receiving AFCA honors for the first time in his career.

A senior from Cologne, N.J., the six-foot-three, 285 pound lineman was a three-year starter for Wesley and has started at both guard and tackle in his career.  In 2012, Cranmer started all 12 games and helped Wesley average 34.0 points and 364.7 yards per game.

"We are very proud of Brian and that he has been selected as a part of this prestigious team," said head coach Mike Drass.  "Brian had a great 2012 season and a super career here at Wesley, and his performance on the field matches up to the level of leadership that he brings off the field."

Cranmer was voted as a team captain for his senior season and a Second Team All-ACFC selection as a sophomore.

The Wolverines finished the season with a 10-2 record and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals.  After making its eighth-straight postseason appearance, Wesley has now won 100 games since 2004.
