The result marks the Hawks’ third straight loss to the Red Dragons by three points or less.
September 9, 2017 ’Wick Football Pitches 45-0 Shutout at Alfred State to Earn First Win of 2017 ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick overwhelmed host Alfred State by a final score of 45-0 on Saturday. The Hawks’ offense gained 567 yards on the day while the defense limited the Pioneers to just 77 offensive yards, -18 yards rushing on 21 attempts, and three first downs. Hartwick is now 1-1 on the season while Alfred State slips to 0-2.
September 2, 2017 Western Connecticut Battles Back in Second Half to Edge Hartwick, 48-47 Hartwick football led 28-0 in the second quarter over visiting Western Connecticut State, but the Colonials outscored the Hawks 48-19 the rest of the way to snatch a 48-47 victory on Saturday at Wright Stadium in the season opener for both teams.
July 9, 2017 New York conferences start postseason bowl The Empire 8 and Liberty League won't be sending their top at-large teams to the ECAC postseason bowl games, rather, they'll square off in a New York State bowl game this November.
February 1, 2017 Pine, Reed Named NCAA Statistical Champions ONEONTA, NY – Hartwick football players Billy Pine (Hoosick Falls, NY/Hoosick Falls HS) and Koree Reed (Baldwinsville, NY/Central Conn. St. Univ.) finished the 2016 season as NCAA Division III Statistical Champions in respective categories, announced by the NCAA this week. The quarterback and wide receiver were key cogs in the Hawks’ high-powered passing offense which ranked in the top 10 in the country.
November 12, 2016 Hartwick Topped by Utica 52-40 on Senior Day ONEONTA, NY – Visiting Utica took the lead with less than 10 minutes remaining in the third quarter and held onto it the rest of the way in a 52-40 win over Hartwick in Empire 8 football on Saturday at Wright Stadium. The Hawks closed the gap to five twice in the fourth quarter but could not get any closer. Utica caps its regular season at 7-3 overall and 5-3 in the Empire 8. The Hawks season ends at 2-8 and 1-7.
