November 5, 2016 Ithaca Completes Perfect Home Season With 7-0 Shutout of Buffalo State ITHACA, N.Y. – For the first time since 1999, the Ithaca College football team posted back-to-back shutout victories at Butterfield Stadium with a 7-0 triumph over Buffalo State College on Saturday, in what was head coach Mike Welch’s final home contest of his hall of fame career. Saturday also marked Senior Day, as the parents of 22 seniors were honored at halftime, and the underclass parents were recognized before the game as part of Family Weekend.
October 22, 2016 Defense Forces Five Turnovers as Ithaca Shuts Out Morrisville, 34-0 ITHACA, N.Y. – In less than ideal playing conditions – low 40s with rain and constant wind – at Butterfield Stadium on Saturday, the Ithaca College football team shutout Morrisville State College, 34-0, behind five turnovers by the defense. It is the first shutout by Ithaca since 2013 (Frostburg State, 23-0), and the largest margin of victory in a shutout since 2009 (St. Lawrence, 45-0). With the win, Ithaca is now 4-3 overall and 3-2 in the Empire 8 Conference.
October 8, 2016 Ithaca Football Erupts for 50 Points on Homecoming vs. Hartwick ITHACA, N.Y. – For the first time in eight years, the Ithaca College football team hung 50 points on the scoreboard, en route to a 50-27 Empire 8 Conference victory over Hartwick College on Saturday as part of Homecoming and Alumni Weekend at Butterfield Stadium. The Bombers are now 3-2 on the season after their second straight win, while Hartwick falls to 1-4 on the year.
October 1, 2016 Ithaca Football Hands Utica First Loss of Season, 23-14 ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College football team got back on the winning track on Saturday afternoon against Utica College at Butterfield Stadium with a 23-14 Empire 8 Conference victory. With the win, Ithaca is now 2-2 on the season and 1-1 in the Empire 8, while Utica takes its first loss of the season as it drops to 4-1 overall.
September 23, 2016 Ithaca Opens Conference Play at Alfred Saturday ITHACA, N.Y. – The Ithaca College football team will look to get back on the winning track this Saturday against Alfred University for a 1 p.m. kickoff at Yunevich Stadium. Saturday’s showdown will be Ithaca’s Empire 8 Conference opener, which is 11-3 all-time in E8 openers, including four straight wins.
